The Pennsylvania Department of Health participates in the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Conrad State 20 Waiver Program for primary care physicians with J-1 visas. Primary Care practitioners include physicians in family practice, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry.

Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) - A general fact sheet for ARC J-1 waiver program (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

 
U.S. Department of State - Now charges a fee of $136.00 to process each application. Payment must be made directly to U.S. Department of State - DO NOT send payment to the Department of Health. Fee is applicable to waivers under the ARC and State 20 programs.
